Today PS SDCD & R, Prof Hamadi Boga was Chief Guest at The World Food Day (WFD) celebrations held at Voi in Taita Taveta County. This day is celebrated in up to 150 countries across the world to mark the birthday of Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations each year on 16th October. It has been held annually since 1945. It is one of the most celebrated days in the UN calendar, and is a partnership between the FAO, governments, local authorities, private sector and other stakeholders in up to 150 countries across the world. It aims at promoting worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all. This year’s theme is “Better production, Better nutrition, Better environment, Better life” In Kenya.
