The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is taking bold steps in policy reform to protect Kenya’s crops; ensure proper and safe use of pesticides; and food safety for all.

Earlier today, Agriculture CS Dr. Andrew Karanja, alongside officials from the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA), engaged with the Senate Committee on Delegated Legislation, chaired by Hon. Mwenda Gataya. The discussions focused on the Pest Control Products Regulations 2024 and the Crops (Bixa/Pyrethrum) Regulations 2024.

CS Karanja underscored the Ministry’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with lawmakers and stakeholders to drive policies that safeguard Kenya’s agricultural future.
