CS Dr. Andrew Karanja this afternoon launched the Chemelil Sugar Company Limited Strategic Plan 2023-2027 an event that marked a significant milestone in the journey of revitalizing Kenya’s sugar industry.
He emphasized that the strategic plan is a reflection of the shared vision to transform the sugar sector into a cornerstone of the economy.
Dr. Karanja highlighted the recent assent of the Sugar Bill by H.E. the President as a pivotal step toward addressing the challenges that had long hindered the industry’s growth. He expressed optimism that the new measures would unlock opportunities for farmers, businesses, and communities alike.
The Cabinet Secretary elaborated on the key priorities of the strategic plan, which include increasing production capacity, adopting innovative technologies, strengthening community engagement, and ensuring sustainability.
