The World Bank has been a key partner in supporting Kenya’s agricultural sector, contributing to efforts aimed at enhancing productivity, strengthening food security, and improving rural livelihoods. This partnership is demonstrated through: the National Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP), the Emergency Locust Response Project (ERLP), and the Food System Resilience Project (FSRP).

Recognizing the big role of County Governments in implementing these projects, Agriculture CS Dr. Andrew Karanja this morning officiated a consultative meeting bringing together representatives from the National Government, County Governments, and the World Bank.

The discussions centered on advancing agricultural productivity, empowering farmers, and addressing challenges facing the sector.

Present were the Chair of Agriculture CECM Caucus Governor Ken Lusaka, Governor Nyeri & Vice Chairman of the Council of Governors (CoG), Dr. Mutahi Kahiga and CECM Agriculture and Livestock Development, James Muturi Wachihi.
