CS Kagwe Holds First Meeting with Departmental Heads at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

This morning, the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, flanked by PS State Department for Agriculture, held his first meeting with departmental heads at Kilimo House. The discussions focused on enhancing agricultural productivity and boosting farmers’ incomes to contribute to the country’s Food Security goal in line with the BETA Agenda

In his address, CS Kagwe emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration among departments to achieve a unified vision for agricultural growth. He highlighted the critical role each department plays in creating an environment where farmers thrive, food systems remain resilient, and livelihoods are uplifted.

Achieving food security is a national priority. We must work together, harness our collective expertise, and ensure that every decision we make positively impacts farmers and sector stakeholders,” said the CS.

The CS urged departmental heads to adopt innovative solutions and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, development partners, and the private sector to ensure sustainable agricultural practices and improved food systems.

The departmental heads welcomed the CS’s vision and commitment, pledging their support in implementing actionable strategies to improve the sector’s performance and meet the government’s targets.
