Today, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Sen. Mutahi Kagwe, held a consultative meeting with the Cereal Millers Association (CMA) during their Full Members’ Forum, following their Annual General Meeting and the launch of CMA’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

The meeting provided a platform to reflect on CMA’s 25 years of contribution to Kenya’s food systems, from maize, wheat, rice, to pulses and to chart solutions for safe, affordable, and nutritious food for all Kenyans. Discussions focused on combating aflatoxin, reducing production costs, improving access to credit, and strengthening value chain linkages.

CS Kagwe reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting grain production, improving post-harvest management, enhancing aflatoxin surveillance, and fostering partnerships with millers and other stakeholders to build a resilient cereals sector.
