In alignment with the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) Plan, the government is implementating strategic interventions to transform the dairy industry, one of the key value chains for agricultural transformation.
Earlier today, Dr. Andrew Karanja, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development accompanied by PS Livestock Development Jonathan Mueke, met with milk processors at the Kenya Dairy Board, to discuss the transformative goals. These goals include; doubling milk production; expanding daily exports; increasing the share of formally marketed milk, and boosting revenue for small – scale dairy farmers.
These initiatives aim to create sustainable livelihoods for dairy farmers, foster food security, and strengthen Kenya’s position in global dairy markets.
