The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has reaffirmed its full commitment to the government’s electronic procurement system (e-GP), signaling a decisive shift away from manual processes. In a meeting with procurement officers, Secretary Administration and Principal Secretary Cyrell Wagunda, who oversees Public Investments and Assets Management, stressed that the digital system is now the only acceptable mode of procurement.

“We are not going back. The government is now fully electronic. No more delays go as per the e-GP training,” the PS declared, urging officers to sharpen their focus and stick to the guidelines provided during their training.

Acknowledging concerns raised by officers, he added: “In every system there must be challenges, but these can be fixed along the way as we go on.”

The meeting, also attended by livestock and agriculture supply chain management officers, reinforced the government’s push to entrench transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in service delivery through the e-GP platform.
