The Secretary Administration, Mr. Harun Khator, this afternoon visited the National Cereals & Produce Board depot in Thika, where he engaged with farmers collecting fertilizer in preparation for the long rains. He assured them of the Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring last-mile delivery and smooth distribution at the depot, emphasizing that no farmer would be left behind in accessing this crucial input.
The farmers lauded the Government’s efforts, for the affordable prices and the availability of fertilizer.
Many shared how the subsidy has significantly reduced their production costs, allowing them to expand their acreage and anticipate a bountiful harvest. They noted that timely access to fertilizer would enhance food security and improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Khator reiterated that the Government will remain vigilant in streamlining distribution channels, ensuring fertilizers reach all depots and sub-depots efficiently.
