Today, the Principal secretary state department for Agriculture Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul,CBS together with Cabinet secretary Hon.Mutahi Kagwe joined President H.E Dr.William Samoei Ruto, Deputy president Prof Kithure Kindiki and other leaders during the launch of issuance of bonuses for sugarcane famers in Mumias, Kakamega county.

The historic issuance of bonuses to Mumias Sugar Company farmers not only validates the success of our reforms but also amplifies the sugar sector’s potential to uplift farmers and support thousands of livelihoods in our country.

With a record 832,000 tonnes of sugar produced last year,Kenya is steadily positioning itself as a global sugar exporter, thereby enhancing economic growth and national food security.
This achievement reflects our collective efforts, including availability of subsidized fertilizers, enactment of the sugar act,to ensure farmers benefit from their hard work.
