Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh, CBS, engages tea farmers and stakeholders at Kapkoros Tea Factory in Bomet County during deliberations on sector reforms and agricultural value chain development.
Today, Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh, CBS, accompanied by Dr. Aurelia Rono (Parliamentary Affairs), engaged tea farmers at Kapkoros Tea Factory, Bomet County, to deliberate on ongoing sector reforms. In line with the Government’s modernization agenda, a grant of KSh 51.9 million was presented to upgrade the factory, enhance tea quality, and strengthen competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
They later inspected the Boito Avocado Packhouse and participated in a Farmers’ Field Day in Konoin Sub-County — a strategic investment aimed at fortifying the avocado value chain, improving market access, and expanding income opportunities for farmers.
In Chemaner, Bomet East Constituency, the Farmers’ Field Empowerment Day provided a platform to discuss modern farming practices, value addition, and the adoption of high-value crops. Assorted seedlings were flagged off for distribution to farmers, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to sustainable agricultural growth and resilience.
The engagements were graced by Tea Board of Kenya CEO Mr. Willy K. Mutai, Chairman Mr. Ndung’u Gathinji, a host of MCAs led by County Speaker Cosmas Korir, and other key stakeholders. Their presence underscored the collective resolve to drive reforms, empower farmers, and unlock the full potential of Kenya’s agricultural sector.
