CS Mithika Linturi, today attended the 5th Special Intergovernmental Forum on Agriculture at Windsor hotel, to deliberate on ways of improving food security through major reforms in the agricultural sector.
The forum which brought together, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ministry of Mining, Maritime and Blue Economy, Council of Governors, Development Partners and the Agriculture Sector Network has developed an action plan that will transform the Kenyan agriculture sector through close intergovernmental relations, budget increase to the sector, introduction of large irrigation, access to subsidized fertilizer to farmers among others.
In line with the forum’s theme: “Promoting intergovernmental relations and partnerships for Sustainable Agricultural Systems to boost food security and economic development in Kenya”, the Ministry of agriculture is determined to oversee implementation of the reforms that will guarantee achievement of sustainable food systems.
