Today Mr. Lawrence Omuhaka, the Chief Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock & Cooperative, officially commissioned KEMFSED project motor vehicles and motorcycles at a colorful flagging-off ceremony held at Fisheries complex, Liwatoni. Mombasa.
CAS who was was accompanied by Dr. Francis Owino, PS for SDFA&BE and Mr. Solomon Kitungu, PS for Works also toured ongoing rehabilitation works of Kenya Fishing Industries Co-operation fish refrigeration and storage facilities at the site. The Motor Vehicles and Motor Cycles include

The Kenya Marine Fisheries Socio-Economic Development (KEMSEFD) project aims at strengthening the management of priority fisheries for socio-economic benefits of the coastal communities. It also aims at supporting the country in its efforts to leverage emerging opportunities in the Blue Economy.
The main focus of the Project is to increase socio-economic benefits of the Coastal communities in the five Counties of Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu, Tana River and Mombasa. To strengthen the Project Coordination Units at the National and County levels, the Project has procured the Motor Vehicles and Motor Cycles to improve transport in the participating Counties.
