Yesterday morning ,CAS Anne Nyaga held a successful sensitization meeting with all the 47 County Executive Committee members of agriculture. They deliberated on the role and interlink between the National government and county governments in the sustainable implementation of the rebranded 4K Clubs in Kenya .
She encouraged all the CECs to take over the leadership role in the revival of the clubs in Kenya. In her remarks on the update of the program, she thanked the county governments for their leadership role in the formation of the 47 county coordination committees across the 47 counties in Kenya. The committees mandate will be the coordination of all the 4K clubs activities at the county level .
The next step is the capacity building of the Trainers of Trainers (T.O.Ts) in all the counties in Kenya before commencing the setting up of the club activities in all the schools across the 47 counties.
The Government has a keen focus on ensuring that the element of children is included in all the programs being implemented by the ministry of agriculture in collaboration with the county governments. She noted that focus will not be on the youth alone but also on the children since that will lead to a continued next generation farmers and agribusiness people for the country.
She finalized by encouraging the county leadership to continue encouraging youth in agriculture to take advantage of the advertised 2nd Call for proposals in the Enable Youth Program that ends by the end of the month.
Accompanying her was the Agriculture secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Newly established Youth Unit leadership in the ministry.
