This Morning Principal Secretary state department for Agriculture Dr kipronoh Ronoh Paul join Cs Dr. Andrew Karanja during an official launch of the Farmer Registration Report (2023) and roll out the Digital Soil Mapping initiative at Weston, Nairobi.

This initiative provides a robust foundation for evidence-based planning and resource allocation. By capturing critical data,we are ensuring that all farmers, regardless of location or scale, are included in accessing government programs and services such as subsidies, extension support, and credit facilities. Inclusivity remains at the core of this initiative, ensuring that no farmer is left behind.

The synergy between farmer registration and soil mapping is a game-changer. By integrating these two initiatives,we can tailor solutions to the unique needs of each farmer, providing targeted inputs, optimal crop recommendations, and enhanced yield predictions. This data-driven approach not only benefits farmers but also empowers stakeholders to allocate resources efficiently and improve the monitoring and evaluation of agricultural projects.
Farmers stand to gain immensely from these advancements. They will receive personalized guidance on fertilizer use, crop selection, and soil management, enabling them to optimize their practices. Stakeholders, too, will benefit from improved resource planning and streamlined project oversight. This initiative underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing food security, reducing soil degradation, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices through innovation and partnerships.

On his remarks PS urged all stakeholders to actively leverage the tools and data at their disposal to enhance decision-making.He encouraged farmers to embrace these digital platforms to access agricultural services that will transform their practices. Researchers, extension officers, and private sector players must collaborate to maximize the impact of these groundbreaking initiatives.Together, we are building a resilient and sustainable future for agriculture in Kenya.
