Today, the Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul, CBS, attended the reading of the 2026/2027 Budget Statement by the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Hon. John Mbadi, at the Parliament Buildings.
The Budget Statement highlighted strong progress in agricultural production. Maize production rose from 34 million bags in 2022 to 67 million bags in 2025, while maize imports declined from 9.9 million bags to 3.3 million bags over the same period.
The Government has allocated KSh 64 billion to the agriculture sector in the 2026/2027 financial year to accelerate transformation, boost productivity, and strengthen national food security.
