CS Mithika Linturi started day two of his three-day field tour in Meru County, at the Meru NCPB stores.
In the company of National Cereals and Produce Board Managing Director Joseph Kimote, Meru County Commissioner, and other officials from the Ministry, he delivered a mobile grain dryer to the Meru NCPB depot this morning to assist famers speed up drying of their grains and avoid post harvest losses.
In order to boost farming of cash crops, CS Linturi announced a token of sunflower seeds to every farmer in Meru County who purchases the subsidized fertilizer from NCPB depot.
He also commissioned Aflatoxin testing lab for grain quality control.
The ministry is working with the National Government Administration Officers in the county through the county commissioner to ensure security and safekeeping of these programmes.
