Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul, CBS, engages farmers in Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu Counties during an assessment tour on crop failure occasioned by drought.

Today, Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul, CBS, toured Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu Counties to meet farmers and assess the ongoing crop failure, particularly maize, occasioned by the prevailing drought. The visits to both small- and large-scale farmers provided critical insights to guide government in developing effective mitigation measures to address the situation.

He was accompanied by Soy MP Hon. David Kiplangat, Emgwen MP Hon. Josses Lelmengit, Kenya Seed Managing Director Mr. Sammy Chepsiror, Agricultural Finance Corporation Managing Director Mr. George Kubai, and Acting Agriculture and Food Authority Managing Director Mr. Callistus Kundu. Their presence highlighted the strong collaboration between policymakers, government agencies, and industry leaders in safeguarding Kenya’s agricultural future.
