Over 10,000 households are now beneficiaries of Ntui Primary School Community Borehole in Igembe Central, Commissioned by Agriculture CS Hon Peter Munya.
Addressing Ntui residents, CS Munya said that the Borehole, which has been funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, is boosting Food and Nutrition Security in the area, as farmers no longer rely on rain fed agriculture which is unpredictable due to climate change.
Commissioning of Muthara Primary School Community Borehole in Tigania East, Meru County. The borehole will provide water for the school and the area community for irrigation and domestic use.
To promote food safety and 100% Food and Nutrition security, Agriculture CS Hon Peter Munya laid foundation stones for Urru and Lailuba drying and storage facilities, in Tigania West and East Constituencies.
The facilities are pilot projects in the country that will enable farmers to dry and store grains for long periods, eliminating the risk of aflatoxins contamination.
The Storage facilities are funded by the National Government through Engineering Services Directorate.
