Agriculture CS Hon Mithika Linturi has expressed gratitude to the Hungarian Government for establishing the demo farm in Kirinyaga County, showcasing Hungarian agricultural technology. The CS had joined the Hungarian Minister for Agriculture Dr. Istvan Nagye and the Ambassador of Hungary to Kenya, H.E Zsolt Mészáros for the launch of the demo farm.
He mentioned that the farm will be starting trials on Hungarian seed varieties like capsicum, cucumber, green pea, and corn, comparing them to Kenyan varieties, marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the governments.
This facility facility spans across the nation in places like Mwea, Timau, Naitiri, Ikanga, and Machakos County.
Looking ahead, the two countries aim to share insights on agricultural technologies, focusing on areas like Integrated Pest Management, Organic Production, Safe Pesticide Use, Greenhouse Management, Agribusiness Skills Development, and Agricultural Project Cycle Management.
