Director of Crop Resource Management Leonard Kubok Opens 12th STAK Congress, Emphasizes Seed Industry’s Role in Kenya’s Food Security

The Director of Crop Resource Management, Leonard Kubok, officially opened the 12th Seed Trade Association of Kenya (STAK) Congress and Seed Expo today, at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Nairobi.

Discussions focused on expanding access to certified seeds and streamlining the registration process for seed merchants. Strengthening the seed system is set to improve farmers’ productivity and reinforce the economic standing of agro-dealers.

In his remarks, CS Dr. Andrew Karanja emphasized that the future of Kenya’s agriculture depends on bolstering the country’s seed industry. He pledged to work closely with seed industry stakeholders and other key partners to ensure farmers have timely, sufficient, and affordable access to high-quality seeds, advancing Kenya’s food security.
