The European Union has long been a steadfast partner to Kenya’s agriculture sector, offering robust support and serving as a key market for the nation’s horticulture and coffee exports.

This morning, the CS for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Andrew Karanja, met with a European Union delegation led by the EU Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Nenriette Geiger. Their discussions focused on the EU’s continued support for climate-smart and sustainable agricultural value chains, as well as compliance with Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) standards.

They explored collaboration opportunities aimed at making agriculture more appealing to youth through capacity building and backing priority value chains to boost food security, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods.
