Streaming Distribution and Issuance of Subsidized Fertilizer Across the Country

Ahead of National Farmers’ day Celebration in Uasin Gishu county, the principal secretary state department for Agriculture Dr kipronoh Ronoh Paul, CBS took the time to visit the Eldoret National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) Depot in Soy Constituency. The purpose of his visit was to monitor Subsidized Fertilizer and certified seeds Program and explore ways to improve last mile distribution through the establishment of additional distribution stores in the county, including through farmers cooperatives.

At the NCPB depot, PS had a brief meeting with the management to discuss the modalities of setting up additional distribution stores with a view of enhancing the distribution of farm inputs to farmers. The subsidized fertilizer is being sold at a reduced price of Sh2,500 from the original price of Sh6,500 at either National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) or Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC) stores.

After the meeting with the management, he engaged with farmers present at the depot to hear their feedback on the fertilizer distribution process and address any bottlenecks they may have encountered. So far, the feedback was positive, and the distribution process will be smoothly.
He was flanked by Governors Hon. Ken Lusaka, Chair of Agriculture at the Council of Governors, Hon. Jonathan Bii(Host),MPS Hon. David Kiplangat ( Soy), Hon. Phylis Bartoo (Moiben),MD Kenya seeds Company Mr Sammy Chepsiror, Hosts of MCAs among other key stakeholders.
