Today, CS Dr. Andrew Karanja accompanied H.E. President William Samoei Ruto and Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki to the renowned Kimalel Goat Auction in Marigat, Baringo County.
The auction witnessed the sale of over 4,300 goats, where stakeholders in the livestock sector highlighted the importance of a healthy herd in strengthening the leather and meat value chains. The market potential for these products remains vast both locally and internationally.
The CS appreciated the leadership of Baringo County for embracing the government’s livestock vaccination drive and urge other agricultural counties to support this initiative.
Other leaders present at the auction included CS Kipchumba Murkomen, PS Jonathan Mueke, Governors Benjamin Cheboi (Baringo) and Abdi Hassan (Isiolo), Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, and other regional leaders.
